Food for Fines at Heterick is coming back! Dec 1 - 7

Food for Fines Fact Sheet
Heterick Memorial Library will celebrate National “Roof Over Your Head Day” (December 3rd) with a food for fines campaign.
Starting December 1 and running through the 7th, we encourage all students, faculty and staff to help others with donations to the Ada Food Pantry.
The process is simple:
1. Bring your overdue items to the circulation desk at Heterick Memorial Library.  Outstanding fines may be paid as well.
2. Fill out a form and fines will be waived by the next day. Each item donated will clear up to $1.00 in fines during the Food for Fines campaign.
3. An email confirmation of fines waived will be sent.
Donations will not be accepted for replacement cost of lost items.
The Ada Food Pantry has asked that we avoid donating canned vegetables, but all other non-perishable food items are needed. Among the food bank's most needed PCIs*(personal care items)  are razors, shaving cream, bar soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouth wash, toilet paper, bottled water and hand lotion. First aid items such as band-aids are also needed. All must be in the original, unopened packaging.
For more information, please contact the circulation desk at ext. 2181 or Traci Welch Moritz, Public Services Librarian at  t-moritz@onu.edu.

Fair Use Rights for DVD's - New Policy

During the past year, we have received several queries about permitted use of digital materials for educational purposes. On July 26, a change was made in this area which provides greater freedom in the use of DVD’s.
An excellent summary of the expanded exemption for education purposes can be found at the Chronicle of Higher Education website at http://chronicle.com/blogPost/Letting-Us-Rip-Our-New-Right/25797/?sid=wc&utm_source=wc&utm_medium=en
The text of the decision can be found at http://www.copyright.gov/1201/.
